Screwing die-heads.-A gauge for setting the chasers of pivoted carrier screwing die-heads with tangential chasers comprises a body 1 having depending lugs 2, 3 and a rear limb 11 carrying a stop 5 which has a curved surface for engagement with a similar surface in a recess 5<1> on the diecarrier 6. The recess 5<1> is at a predetermined distance from the pivot 9 of the die carrier and serves to locate a. fixed stop 8 in the lug 3 in relation to the pivot. The cutting end of the chaser 10 is pressed against the stop 8 by a screw 7 and the chaser is then clamped by a jaw 11 and two screws 12, a hole 13 being provided in the gauge for giving access to one of the screws. For adjusting to a different diameter, another gauge having a different distance from the pin 5 to the stop 8 is used.
