Abstract
328,150. Haffenden, J. Wilson-. June 6, 1929. Trouser stretchers.-Stretchers for insertion in the legs of trousers and comprising two pair of stretchers bars B supported pivotally by a yoke A and pressed apart by a spring are provided with means for locking the bars in position after they have been pressed together for insertion in the trousers. After insertion the bars are released and spring outwardly under the action of the spring H. As shown, the bars are pivoted near one end to the yoke and are curved to connect with links E attached to a cradle G which rests on a stirrup L of the form shown in Fig. 4. The stirrup is provided with a downwardly turned part R for handling and is pivotally carried by a rod I, the spring H being interposed between the under side of the yoke and the top of the stirrup. In its relaxed position the spring rests on the surface L of the stirrup but by compressing the spring and rotating the stirrup surfaces P, Q may be brought into position for the spring to rest on.
