Folding seats; adjustments. - A vertically adjustable tip-up seat is hinged to a movable part capable of vertical adjustment, and carries a pin or other member adapted to engage notches, projections or the like in, or upon, a relatively fixed part, so as to be capable of holding the seat in its adjustable position for use, the pin or other member being discharged, to permit adjustment of the seat, by turning the latter about its hinges. Such a seat 1 is shown in Fig. 1, hinged at 3 to a vertically adjustable slide 5 held in position by a clamping screw 9, the seat carrying a pin 10 ergageable in one or other of the notches 11 of the fixed rack 12. When in use, the weight of the occupant is taken by the parts 10, 11, the rear edge of the bracket 2 abutting the slide 5, but when tipped up, to its out-of-use position, the seat is supported by the clamp screw 9.
