Drills and cutters. - A bit for a rotary rock drill has an undivided cutter 13 of chilled metal soldered into a transverse slot in the end of the bit 12. Shoulders 14 project upwards from the bit to support the cutter behind the cutting edges and have inclined rear surfaces making an angle with the axis of the bit. The bit is stated to be capable of a high speed of rotation.
