Abstract

324,938. Bour, E. F. Sept. 3, 1928. Air-moistening. - Apparatus for moistening air, particularly for cooling or ventilating purposes, consists of a moistened fabric 6, through which the air passes, stretched in zig-zag manner between grids 5 forming the air inlet and outlet faces of a frame adapted to be dismantled and packed for transport. The grids together with the closed sides of the frame are. packed in a water tank 3 in which the frame stands when in use. The. top 4 of the frame forms a cover for the tank and is secured thereto by studs screwed into the lugs 10 on the tank and the cover. The frame is placed in line with a ventilation fan. In a modification, the frame is formed of grids 19, Fig. 5, and top and bottom horizontal members 21. In another arrangement, the grids are dispensed with and the fabric is attached to hooks 25, Fig. 7, on the horizontal members. The air outlet side of the frame may be provided with a directing screen 29, Fig. 9, or a pervious diffusing bag 31, Fig. 10. The Provisional Specification describes apparatus comprising fabric sheets stretched on rectangular frames clamped between end frames, and disposed in a shallow water tank.
