Stoppers with valves. - In a closure device. for sauce bottles &c., a pouring spout is formed with a straightthrough passage for the liquid to be poured and its delivery end is covered in the retracted position by a movable closure which, during its movement from or to the operative position, is adapted to displace the spout either to extend it for the purpose of pouring or to retract it to its inoperative position. within a short tubular fitting 2 secured in the bottle neck by a cork washer 3 slides a tubular spout 1, a flange 1<a> on the spout limiting the upward movement thereof. To flats 1<b> on the spout, which allow for venting a link or links 5 are pivoted and the upper ends of the links are secured to a hinged cover 4, raising of which lifts the spout until it protrudes from the bottle neck and the flauge 1<a> makes a tight joint with the fitting 2. The tubular fitting 2 is provided with an internal lip to prevent dripping. In another form, the outwardly flared upper end 1<c>, Fig. 6, of the spout rests on a washer 10 in the bottle neck and is raised when a cross bar 12b on a downward extension 12<a> of the stopper 12 engages projections 14 on the spout. Two projections 14 are provided, leaving gaps 15 through wbich the bar 12b may be passed for complete removal of the stopper. In a further' modification, the stem of the stopper is resilient and springs past the projections 14.
