321,414. Vicars, Ltd., T. & T., and Crosland, E. M. May 3, 1928. Divided on 321,403. Rolling - machines. - Apparatus f o r sheeting dough or applying a sheet of coating material to biscuits &c., comprises a hopper 2, a pair of rolls 3, 4, taking material therefrom, and a third roll 8 which form with the rolls 3, 4, a compression chamber. The compression is effected either in virtue of the space between the rolls 3, 4 being greater than the space between the rolls 3, 8, or, in virtue of the peripheral speed of the rolls 3, 4 being greater than that of the roll 8. A plate 5 may be arranged between the rolls 4, 8, but if omitted, the rolls 4, 8 are arranged substantially in contact. Scrapers 9, 10 are provided for stripping the sheet from the rolls 3, 8. The rolls are mounted on axes which are adjustable to vary the size of the compression chamber. The surfaces of the rolls may be roughened.
