Abstract

320,700. Hotpoint Electric Appliance Co., Ltd., and Sims, W., J. July 26, 1928. Electric hot-plates.-In an arrangement comprising a hot-plate 3 mounted in an outer supporting plate or hot-plate 1, the outer periphery of the plate 3 and the inner periphery of the plate 1 are provided with spaced lugs 3<A>, 1<A> respectively, the lugs on one plate being arranged mid-way between the lugs on the other, a yieldable ring 14 is arranged between the rows of lugs, and the plate 3 is depressed to deform the ring 14 until the surfaces of the plates are in a common plane. The ring 14 is split and made of stout annealed iron wire, and lugs on 3<A> are provided with knife-edges. The plate 1 is provided with a T- shaped lug 1 situated between lugs 1<d>, 1<e> and engaging the ends of the ring. The plates are heated by elements 4, 2 provided with earthing clips and terminal blocks as described in Specification 320,986.
