320,514. Co-Operative Wholesale Society, Ltd., and Phillips, A. Oct. 1, 1928. Lids.-The lid c of a tin or box a having an upstanding portion a<1> and a rib or flange b, is provided with one or more cam pieces d, pivoted at d', having a continuously curved lower edge for prizing up the lid on turning in either direction, the pivot being positioned above the rim of the tin when the lid is in the closed position. Finger grips e are provided by bending over the tongues from the body of the piece. As a modification the finger piece may be hinged to the cam proper so that it may be turned, when out of use, to lie against the side of the lid. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 15306/12, 291,902 and 294,821.
