Abstract

Lids.-The hinge for the lid of a sheet metal box is formed by pressing out portions of the body and lid in such positions that the edges of the body and lid remain intact. In one form, Fig. 2, a slot 2 is formed in the flanbe a of the lid and a portion 3 of the wall of the body is pressed out and curved so as to enclose the edge c left below the slot 2. The portion of the flange pressed out to form the slot 2 may be turned back upon the edge c to form a curved bearing surface for the hinge. In a modification the slot is formed in the wall of the body and portion 3 pressed out of the flange of the lid.
