Abstract

320,513. Bloomfield, C. W., and Davison, E. C. Sept. 28, 1928. Cylinders, arrangement of ports and igniters in.-The inlet and exhaust valves of each cylinder are spaced around the cylinder head with an angle of 135‹ or less between them. Fig. 1 shows one of the valves 8 actuated by a rocker 11 from a cam shatt 3. The other valve (not shown) is spaced 90‹ from the valve 8 and is actuated from the same shaft by means of a second rocker, the axis 9 of which is at right angles to the axis 12 of the first rocker. The sparking-plug 13 is arranged so that its electrodes lie in the cylinder axis and adjacent the exhaust port.
