Abstract
319,577. McGhee, H. Feb. 25, 1929. Vulcanizing boots and shoes.-A press cure mould carried on a hot table A, consists of a fixed gnomon shaped section B, C recessed to take the sole plate P which is carried by the hinged gate section E. Section D is hinged at d to facilitate removal and insertion of the footwear. A pocket Y is provided in section B, U to accommodate the toe. The mould is locked by clamps H, L, and has cavities V through which water may be circulated to protect leather uppers. In the process of manufacture a loose steel plate R is inserted in the goods, and pressure exerted by an inflation bag Q, a flange of the nipple pipe S bearing upward against a bridge T.
