319,256. Baker, G. R., Baker Perkins, Ltd., and Anciens Etablissements a Savy, Jeanjean, et Cie Soc. Anon. June 15, 1928. Roller mills.-The rolls 3 of a chocolate refining mill are cooled by water &c. circulated by a pump 10 having a valve-controlled cold water supply pipe 14 on its suction and a discharge pipe 13 on the pressure side. Cold water may enter the circuit through a bye-pass 21 having a valve 20 regulated either manually or automatically by a solenoid 18 arranged in an electric circuit the current through which is controlled by a thermostat 16 in the path of the circulating water. In a modification, the water enters and leaves each of the rolls at the same end thereof, and a tank having an outlet at its upper end is disposed in the return pipe from the rolls to the pump.
