Thermionic generators and heterodyne receivers. -A high - frequency transmitter or receiver particularly adapted for short waves comprises a crystal-controlled oscillation generator QO modulated at M by an auxiliary generator AO of comparatively low frequency. One of the resulting side frequencies is selected by a filter F and is used either for transmission or as the local oscillation in heterodyne reception. Adjustment of the resulting frequency is effected by varying the frequency of the auxiliary generator AO. Valve circuits (Fig. 2, not shown) are described for carrying out the invention.
