Abstract

317,255. Hoffmann, E. A. Oct. 5, 1928. Tank vehicles; tipping wagons. - Vehicles for conveying mixed concrete from a central mixing station to the works site comprise a tank having a smooth unencumbered interior and rotating about a horizontal axis and arranged for end-tipping to discharge the load. The tank 14 supported in bearings 12 carried by a tipping cradle 2 is provided with an opening to admit concrete which opening is adapted to be sealed by a closure 16 and an opening at the rear to discharge the contents when the vehicle tank is tipped. The tank 14 is provided with a ring 24 of teeth by means of which and a pinion 25 driven from the engine &c. the tank is rotated. The cradle 2 is pivoted at 3 to the chassis and is tipped by any known means such as an hydraulic cylinder 5, piston 6, cables 9 and a bracket 10 on the cradle.
