Skid.-A combined skid brake and jack comprises two parallel plates j joined by a cross-piece, pivoted at e to a bracket c on the rear axle of a vehicle and adapted to be raised and lowered by a lever i engaging stops l. The lever i is provided with a nose x adapted to abut against the bracket c, rotating the plates f and lowering the axle.
