Abstract

314,972. Hansen, C. J., (Assignee of Koppers Akt.-Ges., H.). July 6, 1928, [Convention date]. Addition to 309,565. Sulphur.-Ammonium thiocyanate is decom. posed to yield ammonium sulphate and sulphur, by heating it with sulphuric acid in presence of a thiosulphate. The mother liquors from the evaporation of acid ammonium sulphate solution to crystallize out ammonium sulphate may be used. The reaction may be carried out by heating to 200‹ C. in an autoclave with a lining of acidproof stone or of chromium-nickel steel.
