314,634. Auvrain, F. d'. May 4, 1928. Radial-cylinder engines; revolving-cylinder and reciprocating-piston type.-An engine has four radial cylinders 1, 1<1>, 1<11>, 1<111> rotating in pairs about parallel axes. The cylinders 1, 1<1> are connected to a plate 3, which rotates about a valve arranged around the shaft 31 and is provided with a conical valve chamber connected to the cylinder ends by pipes 8, 8<1>. Similarly cylinders 1<11>, 1<111> are connected to a plate with a valve chamber which rotates around the shaft 31<1>. The distance between the axes is varied to vary the stroke of the pistons. The bearings carrying the shafts are adjustably mounted on the frame, or the frame may be made in two parts relatively adjustable, each part carrying the bearings of one shaft.
