Sugar substitutes.-A sprinkling powder suitable for use by diabetic subjects is obtained by mixing a known artificial sweetening agent such as saccharine, dulcine or the like with a carrier inert to the sweetening agent and resistant to weak acids, e.g., calcium phosphate. The powder may be produced either by intimately mixing the sweetening agent with the carrier in a dry state or by mixing the carrier with a solution of the sweetening agent, whereupon the solvent is removed by volatilization, evaporation, or the like.
