Abstract

Stream-cutting machines; rolling- machines. - Relates to machines wherein dough is passed through successive pairs of rollers to form a continuous sheet which is then trimmed at the edges by rotary cutters and divided by a transverse cutter; and consists in dividing the trimmed portion into bands of equal width which are then cut transversely and the cut pieces moulded. As shown, dough from a hopper H passes through pairs of rollers B, B', C, C', D, D', E, E<1>, to form a sheet which is trimmed and divided into bands by rotary cutters P carried by a shaft p'. A knife K, working through guides k<1>, is reciprocated through a cam k<5> and lever k<2> to sever the bands into pieces of appropriate length. The successive pairs of rollers are arranged closer together and are driven at higher speed. A band a<2> carries the dough beneath the cutters P. E. and delivers the cut pieces to a continuous moulding machine comprising a succession of troughs each fitted with a band and presser-board, as described in Specification 192,103; the successive troughs are aligned, or each succeeding trough may be disposed at rightangles to the preceding one.
