Abstract

Indicators actuated by floats.-In liquid-level indicators of the kind in which a vertically moving member manipulated from outside is stopped when it engages a float, the float is capable of being looked directly on a guide, and the actuated member engages it by a simple thrust. A guide tube 2 is surrounded by a freely moving float 3 and is slotted at 4 to receive an arm 6 carried by the externally manipulated cable 5. When the projection 7 reaches the float, the latter is tilted and locked on the tube 2. The raising of the arm 6 immediately releases the float. In a modification, Fig. 2, the float 3 carries a roller 10 which extends into the guide tube 2 and the externally manipulated member consists of a plunger 11 which presses the roller 10 outwards and locks the float 3 on the guide 2. Another modification employs separate guides for the float and the member 11.
