Abstract
25,753. Saillard, P. Nov. 11. Indicators actuated by floats. -A float carrying a pawl which arrests the upward movement of the float when it reaches the liquid level is so connected to an indicator by a Bowden wire or bv rods or other means that the float can be lowered to the bottom of the liquid receptacle and then raised, the point on the indicator at which the upward movement of the float is arrested indicating the liquid level. In the apparatus shown, a float o carrying a pawl h is pivoted to an arm c sliding in a vertical slot in a rack i and connected by a Bowden wire to a distant indicator, which is provided with a handle v for moving the float. The float may be lowered by a solenoid and is raised by a spring or by a second solenoid. In rising, a part attached to the float passes over a number of electric contacts connected to a meter. In another modification, the float is lowered by the pressure of the water in a cylinder containing a piston operated by the indicating-handle.
