313,666. Harvey & Co. (London), Ltd.. G. A., and Birkbeck, J. A. March 21,1928. Shelves; fittings for securing hooks in position on shelves. -Shelves for filing cabinets &c. are provided with compressor plates sliding parallel to the front of the cabinet and removable by a direct lift. For this purpose the shelf 1 is formed with a groove containing a channel-iron 8 with its edges bent over to engage a projection on the plate 5 and the channel iron is cut away at one end to allow of the removal of the plate. The shelf may be fixed in the cabinet or removable. It may be horizontal, or tilted as shown and provided with a guard plate 7, or it may be V-shaped in cross section with the groove at the edge of the V.
