Abstract
313,585. Bonanome, M. June 15, 1928, [Convention date]. Spindle-driving apparatus; stop-motions; stopapparatus, non-automatic; spindle apparatus.- In spinning and twisting machines of the kind wherein the spindles are driven by an endless belt from a horizontally arranged driving-pulley, the driving-belt 37 is pressed against the wharl 80 by means of a roller 81 on a spring-controlled lever 82, which is moved, so that a roller 87 thereon engages and removes the belt from the wharl and a brake 88 is applied, when an incline 86 is engaged by a blade 85 associated with a lever which is caused or permitted to move on the breakage of a thread. The spindles are mounted in spherical bearings 77 constrained by a spring 79. Driving-arrangements; building-motions; stopmotions; rollers. - The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the following subject-matter. Spinning and twisting machines are driven from an electric motor 1 through a change-speed box 5, Fig. 1, (Cancelled), the driven shaft 21 of the change-gearing carrying the driving-pulley 36 of the spindle-driving band 37 and driving - through change and reverse gearing 41, 44 " feedcontrol shafts 46, 49 on each side of the machine, from which the building-motion cam 94, the - wipers of the stop-motion, and the delivery rollers are driven. The motor shaft is directly coupled to the prime shaft 4 of the change gearing, which is geared with one or another of a nest of gears on a secondary shaft 16, Fig. 3 (cancelled), by means of a pinion 9 movable along a shaft 8 by means of a fork 10, a rack 10<1>, and a pinion 12, the shaft 8 being adjustable relatively to the shaft 4 to permit the gearing with the different wheels of the nest by a pivotal mounting 7. Each end gear of the nest engages a gear loose on the shaft 21, and a clutch 24 operable by a lever 27 is arranged to couple one or the other of the loose gears to the shaft 21 or to be neutral. The wiper-shaft 63 Fig. 2 (cancelled), of the stop-motion is oscillated by a crank-disc 59 on a shaft 54 driven through a clutch 56, 57 and helicoidal gearing from the shaft 46. The delivery roller 64, Fig. 8 (cancelled), is driven by gears 65, 66 from the shaft 46, and a porcelain roller 72 is adjustably secured by a screw 69 in a relatively inclined position thereto so that the thread in passing therearound assumes a spaced relationship as regards the coils by reason of its tendency to ride to the highest part. The building-motion cam engages an irregular fivesided bowl carried by a lever fixed on a shaft 96, Fig. 11 (cancelled), which carries rocking arms 98 coupled to levers 101, 101<1> operating the pokers so as to constitute a self-balanced mechanism. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
