Abstract
313,522. Reymersholms Gamla Industri Aktiebolag. June 13, 1928, [Convention date]. Double silicates.-The residue of " waste clay " obtained when natural silicates such as kaolin or refractory clays are decomposed with acid &c., and consisting essentially of silicic acid and iron and aluminium oxides, is boiled under pressure with oxides, hydroxides, or carbonates of the alkali and alkaline earth metals to obtain directly solid hydrated base-exchanging substances. Prior to use the product may be washed with a solution of common salt or other alkali salt until free from lime. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) includes also the following subject matter:-the alternative use in the process of the alkali or alkaline-earth compounds referred to; and the fusion of " waste clay " with an alkali or alkaline earth hydroxide, &c. followed by hydration of the product. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
