Abstract
313,491. Hartmann, M., and Hartmann, E., (trading as Hartmann, M. & E., [Firm of]). June 12, 1928, [Convention date]. Spigot-and-socket screwed joints; tapered joints; sleeve joints.-The adjacent ends of two pipes, rods, &c. a, g, Fig. 1, are provided with a left-handed and right-handed thread f, h respectively and are connected by a nut c having threads e, d at its ends corresponding to the threads on the two pipes. The nut is first screwed on to and past the thread f and then on to the thread h the thread f meanwhile acting as an abutment for the said nut. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a coupling wherein the abutment is constituted by a ring i, Fig. 3, (Cancelled) screwed onto the pipe a after the nut c, which in this case is not provided with the thread e, has been slipped thereon. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
