Abstract
313,484. Brandes, Ltd., (Assignees of Anderson, W. C.). June 12, 1928, [Convention date]. Magnetic instruments. - An electromagnetic sound reproducing device, such as a loud-speaker, comprises an armature 30 passing through coils 27, 31 and located between the tapered faces 7, 8 of pole-pieces 5, 6 clamped between magnets 1. 2, means being provided for centring the armature in the magnetic air gaps. The armature 30 is carried by a resilient plate member 25 located between end flanges 26, 24 on the bobbins 27, 31, the whole being secured by screws 28, 29 to the upstanding surfaces 11, 20 of a longitudinally extending bar member 12 supported beneath the pole-pieces by screws 16, 17. The surface 20, which is curved as shown, terminates below the plane of the surface 11, a spacer block 23 being inserted between the plates 24, 25, 26 at this end and the surface 20 so that adjustment of the screws 29 imparts a rocking movement to the block 23 for adjusting the armature in the air gaps. A mounting strip 18 has its ends secured to the member 12 and apex piece 32 of the conical diaphragm 33 respectively, a rod 34 connecting the piece 32 with the upper end of the armature.
