Abstract

Scoots.-In order to prevent the breakage of material when filling fixed bunkers or movable conveying receptacles such as skips for hoisting plants, movable members such as ropes, chains, bands or rods are suspended in the containers in the path of the inflowing material and are preferably suspended above the pouring-in points. The members may be of different lengths, the lengths increasing towards the centre of the receptacle. The separate members may be connected at points by intermediate members and the cross section of the members may be increased. The members may be suspended on springs and the lower ends of the members may be made separately movable by opening out brushwise the ends of the ropes or by fitting pieces of chain, ropes or the like on rods.
