311,446. Frame, W. J, and British Vacuum Cleaner &. Engineering Co., Ltd. Feb. 11, 1928. Addition to 283,272. Vacuum cleaning- apparatus. - In a vacuum cleaner the floor wheel 6 drives the fan bv the friction of its tyre on the end of the fan spindle 13, and the bush in the suction nozzle through the gear wheels 12 and 5. The plate 8 on which the axle 7 of the floor wheels is mounted is loosely pivoted about the screw 9, and has sufficient freedom of movement to enable the wheel 6 to move out of contact with spindle 13 when the cleaner is drawn rearwards.
