Abstract

310,911. Finlay, H. Feb. 2, 1928. Vent pegs.-Relates to ventpegs provided with filtering chambers through which air enters the cask &c., the admission of air being controlled by a ball valve. According to the invention a vent-peg comprises a stem H, a filtering and sterilizing chamber G which is always in open communication with the contents of the cask &c. and a controlling ball valve A. The chamber G is closed by a screwed lid D so that access thereto can be obtained without disturbing the valve fitting. The valve seating is detachably screwed to the depending arm I, and supports a rustless steel ball. A suitable antiseptic sterilizing content for the, chamber G is sold under the registered Trade Mark " Unizal."
