Abstract
310,683. Marks, E. C. R., (Harbeck, E.). May 25, 1928. Fats and fatty oils, extracting by solvents.-In an apparatus for cleansing metal articles by means of vapour of a cleansing agent such as trichlorethylene, a vessel 1, containing the cleansing liquid 15, is open at the top and is divided into a. heating compartment 1 and a cooling compartment 1. The compartment 1 is provided with double walls containing heat insulation 200 and the compartment 1 with a cooling jacket 3 through which a cooling agent circulates. The articles are contained in a basket 13 which is suspended by a rope 20 running over pulleys 16 on a davit 12 secured to the vessel 1 and wound on a drum 23 provided with a crank 24. The liquid 15 is vaporized by a steam coil 9 or other heating means and the basket 13 is lowered into the compartment 1. Vapours ascending into the compartment 1 are condensed and fall either into the channel 6 or into the compartment 1.
