Abstract

310,618. Fitzgerald, W. E. F., and Bottoms, T. March 16, 1928. Lids, opening; fittings, internal.- A vanity case is provided with a spring strip 3 disposed around the interior thereof and formed with a lip 4 engaging the cover 8 adjacent, its hinge 6, and with a catch 9 adapted to engage the cover and hold it closed: a thumb-piece 10 adjacent the catch projects through the side of the case and, when the thumb-piece is operated to release the catch, the lip 4 causes the cover to fly open automatically. The spring strip is also provided with a series of projections 12 which engage the usual recessed periphery of a powder tray and detachably secures it in the case.
