Abstract

310,315. Heuer, A. April 23,1928, [Convention date]. Firing bricks. - In firing bricks, tiles, &c., coke or like high grade fuel in a finely divided state is mixed with the raw materials in a proportion which is substantially equal to but does not exceed that required for the firing process. When the quantity of fuel provided is slightly less than that required for firing the bricks &c., the additional heat necessary may be obtained by sprinkling additional fuel in a finely divided state between the bricks &c. The fuel may be added to the raw material in a mixer and the mixture then passed between rollers. From 3 to 4 per cent of coke is the quantity specified as being used to produce non-porous products. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 28310/97.
