[Also in Division C1] Soot is mixed with finely ground or melted pitch, and the mixture treated in a kneading device at 220‹ to 280‹ C., the mixture then being coked. Mixtures of soots having different physical properties may be employed, and mixtures of pitches, but the pitches should not contain constituents which boil at a temperature below the kneading temperature.
