Abstract
309,801. Burger, P. L., and Auto Natural Color Films, Ltd. July 27, 1928. Kinematograph apparatus.-In a projector, a coiled endless film is carried on a group of rollers, some of which are driven, and the coils are kept in position laterally by conical or multitudinous disc rollers. As shown, the coiled film is carried by smooth rollers 3, 4 mounted on horizontal axes carried by a vertical plate 5, the rollers 3 being connected by a belt 27 and being driven by a belt 26 from a sprocket 16. The shaft of the sprocket 16 is connected by chain gearing 21 to the driving shaft of the projector which is itself driven by a belt 19 and pulley 18 from a motor 2. The shaft of the .sprocket 16 also drives a sprocket 11 through bevel gearing, and a sprocket 8 through a chain 25, all the rollers and sprockets being driven at the same peripheral speed. The film 7 passes from the projector over the sprocket 16 &c. to the outermost coil, and from the innermost coil round the sprockets 8, 11, and flanged rollers 12 - - - 15, to the projector. Rollers of multitudinous disc forms, or conical rollers 28, engage the edges of the coils on each side to keep them in place. A spring-biassed arm 32 having a roller 33 engaging the driving belt 19, carries a contact 30 in the projector light circuit, so that breakage of the belt causes the projector light tobe extinguished.
