[Class 97 (i)] In apparatus comprising a sprocket which feeds the film both to and from the gate and intermittent mechanism, a shaft having two obliquely toothed gears meshing with gears on the sprocket shaft and on the shaft of the intermittent mechanism is mounted in a bearing member detachably secured to a stationary support. As shown, the cam 10 operating a claw feed mechanism, and the sprocket 5, are respectively mounted on shafts 22, 31, the shafts being connected by a shaft 25 having obliquely toothed gears 26, 29 meshing with obliquely toothed gears 24, 30 on the shafts 22, 31. The mechanism also comprises a motordriven friction disc 16 engaged by a friction wheel 17 slidable, for speed variation, along a shaft 18 by a lever 39. The shaft 18 drives the shaft 22 by a belt 21 and pulleys 19, 20 ; the spools are alternatively driven by a belt from a pulley 32 on the shaft 31. The teeth of the driving gears 24, 29 are inclined to their shafts at smaller angles than the teeth of the driven gears 26, 30. The shaft 25 is carried in a bearing member 27 secured to a plate 40 by screws through holes 28, Fig. 3, permitting small displacements of the member 27, and the gears 26, 29 overhang the ends of the member 27. The shutter 23 is mounted on the shaft 22, and projection is effected by a light source 11 and projection lens 12.
