Abstract
370,437. Driving sound-record films. AXE, E. C., 27, Chancery Lane, London.- (Roth, A.; 1, Ausstellungstrasse, Vienna.) Jan. 6, 1931, No. 473. [Class 40 (ii).] Comprises sound-record film-feeding means designed to feed the film through the sound gate at a uniform speed. A film d is intermittently moved through a picture gate a by a sprocket e and from thence is fed through a guide f to the sound gate h. On the other side of the sound gate a roller system is provided comprising rollers A, B interconnected by a resilient driving belt j. The film is led from the roller A in a loop k to the roller B and thence to a take-up sprocket b. Imperfections in the drive at B are absorbed by the loop k and resilient belt j, and are not transmitted to the roller A, on the shaft of which is mounted a flywheel l. The rollers A, B may be connected by other driving means, e.g. a chain or a pinion or bevel gear, in which case either or both of the rollers A, B are mounted resiliently. As shown in Fig. 2, the roller is loosely mounted on its shaft m which is driven by a sprocket n connected to the roller by a resilient ring o. In Fig. 3, the roller is shown mounted on the shaft m by a resilient bush p.
