Abstract

309,576. Naamlooze Vennootschap Philips' Gloeilampenfabrieken. April 14, 1928, [Convention date]. Vacuum tubes.-A voltage indicator comprises a gas-filled discharge tube with cold electrodes mounted in an apertured casing of insulating material, one of the connections to the tube being in the form of a wandering lead, the other connection forming a unit with the casing. As shown, Fig. 3, a neon tube 1 has electrodes 3, 4 shaped as an annulus and plate respectively and secured in pinches 5. The end caps 6 have resistances 7 in case the electrodes become shortcircuited. The tube is mounted in an insulating casing provided with a peep-hole 8 and has a spring connection 12 at one end. This connection is made to a wandering lead 13 attached to a contact 14, the point of attachment being enclosed in an insulating housing 15.
