Abstract
308,088. Barton, J. B. March 22, 1928. Oven shelves.-A domestic or like oven is provided with a, bracket b which extends from the inner face of the door and directly engages a stud or the like e on the sliding shelf f, which is thus withdrawn on opening the door. In the form shown the bracket is formed from a bar bent to form a slot d and a portion g having its centre of curvature on the axis of the door hinges, movement. of the shelf thus occurring only when the. stud e is engaged by the slotted portion, i.e. during the latter part of the opening movement, and the initial part of the closing movement, of the door. In the withdrawn position the shelf is supported by the bracket. The bracket is provided with downturned ends removably engaging recesses or lugs h in or on the door; alternatively, it may be fixed. A bracket may be provided for each shelf. In a modification, a pin or projection on the bracket engages a slot in the oven shelf.
