Abstract

Traversers.-To facilitate access to, or the packing of motor vehicles &c. on, the floors of a garage, the garage is provided with one or more lifts or platform hoists having a movable floor which is large enough to accommodate a plurality of vehicles. The cage or hoist a of suitable girder &c. construction has a movable floor formed as an endless track or chain or boards b mounted on end sprocket wheels c and supported by intermediate rollers d, the sprocket wheels being rotatable as by an electric motor f. An electric hoisting motor hand winding drums g or other hoisting mechanism is provided. In operation, the cage is brought to the required floor level and obstructing vehicles are run on to the cage, the floor of the cage being moved laterally as required, until access is obtained to the desired vehicle.
