Controlling extent of travel automatically; systems depending On the use of two or more motors.-Separate motors I - - IV are started together by the movement of a twoway switch a from a contact y to a contact x, current from a battery b being thereby directed into the lefthand magnets of electromagnetic switches A - - D to complete the running circuits of the respective motors through contacts e. Connections are also made through contacts f to rotary switches E - - H driven by the respective motors, the segments and brushes of the rotary switches being arranged to complete circuits to the righthand magnets of the electromagnetic switches when the motors have performed the required travel, and thus open the running circuits. The invention is stated to be applicable to working station-indicators and advertising-devices on railways and tramways.
