Abstract

307,185. Stafford, W. Feb. 9, 1028. Ink - ribbon mechanism. - A spool box b. Fig. 3, is provided with a revoluble plate j which normally rests on the upper edges of the ribbon wound on the spool, and is movable into a position outside the box. Preferably the plate is pivoted on an arm h secured to a spring-depressed rod c mounted in a guide a on the box, the rod being lifted and turned by means of a knob g to move the plate. The pivot i of the plate may be formed with a cap or pointed end for engaging the spool or spool post. The box is provided with a brake spring k for the ribbon.
