Abstract

143,163. Butler, R. Jan. 26, 1920. Machines, model.-A toy intended to represent a cash register comprises a number of indicators, keys by which the indicators can be moved into position to be viewed, and means by which the indicators are held exposed until another key is depressed. The key levers d are pivoted on a horizontal spindle c, and are provided with finger-pieces g and with bifurcations h which engage notches i on vertical rods j. The rods i carry price-indicators k or the like which are exposed through a slot in a cover when a key is depressed. When a rod j is raised, it is retained in its raised position by a pivoted rod o which acts as a detent and engages in a notch n until it is moved by the raising of another rod j. In a modification, the indicators are secured to the inner ends of the levers d which are provided with depending portions having bifurcated ends to engage the rod o.
