Abstract

Filtering lubricant.-Oil is fed into a filtering chamber A, Fig. 1, integral with the lower part of the crank case of an internal-combustion engine and closed on the underside by a removable plate E through an opening I from a branch conduit leading from the oil pump circuit, the purified oil passing directly into the crank casing through an opening H. The filter comprises elements clamped between plates b, d, Fig. 3, by means of threaded rods f, and is secured in the chamber A by lugs engaging studs G. The oil passes through the filtering elements into a conduit H<1> in the plate d, which registers with the opening H. Specification 301,507, [Class 46, Filtering &c.], is referred to.
