Abstract

306,722. Fairweather, H. G. C., (Jacobi, E.). March 8, 1928. Optical instruments. - In dental or surgical mirrors in which an electric lamp is provided beneath the mirror the lamp 11 is arranged eccentrically and the mirror 1 is formed with an unsilvered lenticular portion 10 immediately over the lamp. To obviate glare the lamp may be screened by a strip of blue or gelatine or like material. The mirror is secured within a casing 2 between packing-members 6 by a screwed ring 8. The lamp 11 is supported within the casing 2 by an insulating disc 12 carrying spring contacts 13 on its under side. The leads 3<1> to this lamp extend through the handle 3 of the instrument, between insulating disc 15, 16, and are connected with conducting strips 5 on which the contacts 13 rest. The leads 3<1> are connected at the other ends to an electric plug on the end of the handle 3.
