Abstract
306,681. Peacock, R. E. Feb. 2, 1928. Cold rolling; curving; winding.-Strip metal, particularly hard strip, is coiled on leaving the mill pass by means controllable from the front of the mill and readily put out of action when it is desired to leave a portion of the strip straight. The strip passes from a coil q through the rolls b to curving rolls d, e of which the rolls d are mounted in a frame f pivoted at g and adapted to be raised or swung back when cam catches hare released. The frame may be counterbalanced for this purpose. The roll e is driven by a chain l from the lower mill roll through a clutch controlled by a treadle o. The rolls d are geared to the roll e.
