Abstract

306,656. Clarke, T. A., Malin, J., and Hinks, G. F. Dec. 24, 1927. Jet-wheels. - A water motor adapted to be driven from the domestic supply, and suitable for operating glass cleansing, buffing, &c. appliances as described in Specification 306,694, [Class 138 (i), Washing and cleaning buildings &c.], comprises a pocketed sheet metal rotor 9 arranged within a casing 5<a>, the open side of which is closed by a plate 6. A tap or adaptor fitting 8 and a nozzle block 7 are arranged in the inlet branch 5<b>. The rotor is surrounded by a fixed ring 11, and a baffle plate 12 is provided on the outlet side. This baffle deflects part of the exhaust water into a side chamber 5<e> from which it passes through holes 5g, 10<a> secured to a passage in the shaft 10, and thence to the cleansing implement secured to the screw-threaded end of the shaft. The remainder of the exhaust water escapes through an outlet 5<c>. A braking and stopping plunger 13 is provided. According to Provisional Specification 306,656 several nozzles, controlled by a disc, may be provided in the nozzle block 7.
