Abstract
306,455. Aluminium, Ltd., (Assignees of Wilson, J. H., and Wood, I. W.). Feb. 20, 1928, [Convention date]. Handles.-A cast handle-attachment member 2, formed of an aluminium base alloy containing not less than about 7 and preferably about 15 per cent of silicon is secured to a vessel 1 of wrought aluminium or aluminium alloy by electrically spot-welding the flange 4 to the vessel, as indicated at 6. The attachment member has cast within it the end of a rod 5 to which an ordinary wooden handle is attached. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a statement that projections surrounded by annular grooves may be formed in the contact face of the attachment member to facilitate the passage of the welding current and the flow of the fused metal; this subject-matter does not appear in the Specifica- .tion as accepted.
