Abstract

306,079. Sharples Specialty Co., (Assignees of Ayres, A. U.). Feb. 15, 1928, [Convention date]. Suspending; feeding.-The lower end of the bowl 21 of an over-driven separator has a cap 22 provided with a tubular central boss 23 resting in a bearing 17 made preferably of some self-lubricating material or of wood impregnated with a lubricant. This material is carried in a metal ferrule 18 resting on a washer 20 held up by a spring 19, the bearing being retained by the flange 15 on the shell 14. A nozzle 28 screwed into the connector 24 enters the tubular boss' 23 and is in connection with the supply passage 26 from the socket 27 to which the supply pipe is attached. The connector is held in position by a collar 25 which engages a flange on the connector so that this part may be clamped in any position to correspond with the position of the supply pipe. When the machine stops, liquid will drain from the bowl 21 through the passage 32; openings 30 in the shell 14 permit drainage from the casing 10.
