Abstract

405,743. Tobacco pipes. JACQUEMIN, M. C. H., 50, Netherfield Gardens, New Barking, Essex. Sept. 17, 1932, No. 25907. [Class 130.] In a pipe having a collecting chamber 1 formed in the stem 2 and a tubular extension 5 of the mouthpiece 4 extending substantially to the inner end of the chamber 1, a flexible washer 6 is mounted on the inner end of the tube 5, which has conduits 10, 11 opening upwards and downwards respectively into the chamber 1. The washer 6 may be of indurated fibre, leather, or indiarubber, and is a close sliding fit in the chamber 1 in order to clean the chamber when withdrawn. It may be secured upon the tube 5 by a nut 7, Fig. 1, or by a screw-threaded bush 8, Fig. 4, having a central bore and a flange for engaging the face of the washer. Flats 14 may be provided on the tube 5 to facilitate unscrewing the end 12 from the mouthpiece, and the tube 5 may be of aluminium.
